Renault Scala Launch on 7th September

We have already reported on CarDekho that Renault is going to launch its entry level sedan Scala in the second week of the September, and now we are going to reveal the launch date and price of the car.

Renault Scala is a rebadged version of the Nissan Sunny, which will came with some cosmetic changes. There have been speculations that Renault Scala will be tagged with higher price tag than the Sunny. But now we have got hints from very trusted sources that Renault Scala will be priced same as Nissan Sunny. Renault has played it smart and they will not be charging a premium over the existing Sunny.

Our sources confirm that the Renault Scala price in India will start at about Rs 5.9lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is the same as the Sunny. However, the truth will be revealed once the Scala is launched on the 7th of September.

Renault has burnt its hands with the Pulse’s (which is also re-badged version of Nissan Micra) pricing and now the French company will rectify its mistake. The Scala’s pricing will commence at the same price like the Sunny, but it will be the top end model that will be expensive. The price difference between the top-end of the Sunny and the Scala will be between Rs 50,000 and 80,000. This is because the Scala has extra goodies like leather seats and other features. Stay tuned, as we shall be reporting the price.
