Mumbai : A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 17.66 points or 0.08 percent down in the morning trade Wednesday.
Good buying was seen in metal sector, while selling pressure was seen in capital goods and banking index (bankex) sectors.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 20,839.45 points, was trading at 20,837.26 points in the early session, down 17.66 points or 0.08 percent from previous day’s close at 20,854.92 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 20,854.57 points and a low of 20,789.44 points during the trade so far.
The S&P BSE metal index gained 65.05 points, while capital goods index slipped by 78.86 points and bankex went down by 42.69 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 4.20 points or 0.07 percent down at 6,197.65 points.
