Mumbai : A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 59.59 points or 0.30 percent up in the morning trade Tuesday.
Good buying was observed in auto, capital goods and consumer durables sectors, while selling pressure was seen in metal sector.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,820.03 points, was trading at 19,960.55 points in the pre-noon session, up 59.59 points or 0.30 percent from previous day’s close at 19,900.96 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 20,050.42 points and a low of 19,782.78 points during the trade so far.
The S&P BSE auto index inched up by 110.76 points, capital goods index moved up by 92.20 points and consumer durables index went up by 69.30 points. However, metal index dropped by 13.05 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading at 7.25 points or 0.12 percent up at 5,897 points.
