Volvo to launch V40 Cross Country on 14th June, 2013

Volvo is all set to roll out the much anticipated Volvo V40 Cross Country on 14th June, 2013; the car will make its Indian debut at the company’s new showroom in Gurgaon.

At the moment Volvo India is selling S60, S80, XC60 and XC90, and the V40 Cross Country will be the most affordable Volvo car ever in India. VolvoV40 Cross Country is basically a V40 hatch based crossover, which is developed to perform on both off and or road conditions. Volvo would position the V40 against compact Crossovers like BMW X1, Audi Q3 and upcoming luxury hatchbacks including Mercedes-Benz A-Class and BMW 1-Series.

Volvo hasn’t announced the pricing of the car yet, however we are expecting it to be priced somewhere around Rs. 25 lakh. If the same happens, it will lure more buyers and will help Volvo to establish itself in the Indian premium car market and increase its market share.

Volvo V40 Cross Country gets its power from a 2.0-litre D3 Diesel motor mated to a six-speed AT gearbox, which can develop a maximum power output of 163bhp. Volvo cars are known for their impressive driving dynamics, interior comfort and a rugged character with low emissions, highly safe technology and impressive fuel efficiency, the Volvo V40 Cross Country certainly have all these, making it a great product overall.

Like all other premium cars V40 Cross Country also comes loaded with equipment, and the list includes Start/Stop as standard across the range along with Bluetooth hands-free communication and wireless music playing and city safety auto-braking.

Moreover, The V40 cross country is also known for having world-first pedestrian airbag and pedestrian detection technology. However, many of the aforementioned features have been given in the global version of the car and we are expecting all these features in India bound V40 Cross Country as well.
