World’s first silver bike in Mumbai

Mumbai  : Style statement has reached a new height with the creation of a motorcycle made fully of pure silver by a leading jewellery house here and priced between Rs.5-10 million, a representative of the maker said here Saturday.

The silver bike will be unveiled at the prestigious India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) here Aug 8-12.

Silver Emporium, a leading silver industry player, has created the world’s first handcrafted motorcycle in silver.

“It is absolutely road worthy and barring the engine, tyres and suspension, rest all components are in silver,” Silver Emporium managing director Rahul Mehta told IANS.

Targeted at up-market bike enthusiasts, art collectors and high networth individuals, the silver bike’s cost would vary depending upon its custome-made accessories.

A visual treat, it is the outcome of months of planning and meticulous work by master craftsmen to complete and assemble each and every piece, resulting in a high quality precision engineering product, said Mehta.

Each and every part and component has been handcrafted and cut with laser for accuracy and quality, he said.

The company can turn around any bike from any leading brand within six months to create an exclusive masterpiece with custom-made accessories, and every angle checked to make it stand apart in the crowd, he assured.

Silver Emporium, an ISI 9112 certified company is headed by Chairman Kantilal Mehta who redefined silver as a lifestyle product and began creating silver art pieces three decades ago.

“Each item produced here, be it household or a masterpiece, is absolutely custom made,” said Kantilal Mehta.

The silver bike was created at its existing Jaipur (Rajasthan) unit and its second manufacturing unit is expected to be ready by year-end, Rahul Mehta said.

Headquartered in Mumbai, Silver Emporium has showrooms in Mumbai, New Delhi, Jaipur and Hyderabad, besides a huge corporate and retail clientele in India, the US, Europe and Arabian Gulf regions.
