Yeddyurappa wanted compromise: HD Kumaraswamy

Bangalore : The cup of woes for embattled Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa seems to be overflowing with Opposition leader HD Kumaraswamy on Saturday charging Yeddyurappa of trying to broker a deal with him.

Kumaraswamy (Janata Dal-Secular) alleged that Yeddyruappa?s man had tried to negotiate a peace deal to cover up corruption charges.

?Two days ago, a right hand man of Yeddyurappa had a telephonic talk (with me) to say the Chief Minister wanted to strike a compromise with me,? Kumaraswamy said.

Refusing to name the person, the former chief minister said the person wanted to meet him, but he declined.

?I have evidence to prove this. I will make this public soon,? he said.

Kumaraswamy has been leading the campaign against Yeddyurappa?s alleged scams, releasing new documents to substantiate his charges.

He claimed that Yeddyurappa had begged him for a ministerial berth when the former was the chief minister and that Yeddyurappa was willing to quit BJP and join JD(S) in 2005 if Kumaraswamy helped him repay a loan of Rs 5 crore to BJP general secretary HN Anantkumar.

Meanwhile, Yeddyurappa launched an advertisement campaign to expose the alleged scams under Kumaraswamy and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda.
