Former telecom minister and DMK leader A Raja will face the Central Bureau of Investigation in the 2G scam, according to a report on a national channel on Friday.
NDTV quoting unnamed sources said Raja would be quizzed by the CBI in the scam soon but no dates were mentioned.
He was accused of causing loss of Rs 1.76 lakh crore in the allocation of 2G spectrum as minister, according to a report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).
Faced with a tsunami of protests, A Raja resigned on Nov 14 as the telecom minister.
Meanwhile, Congress leader and Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should not lecture Congress on corruption since its own national president was captured on camera taking money in the Tehelka expose.
“What we have seen in the earlier regime, people should not forget,” Mukherjee said.
“If they talk of corruption, let them speak,” he said, responding to BJP leader L K Advani’s remark that the Congress government has become indifferent to corruption.
Mukherjee said from day one the government has ordered probes into the scams and the concerned minister (A Raja) in the telecom scam has resigned though it was not proved if he was guilty.
