New Delhi : The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) will meet in New Delhi on Friday to discuss the Kashmir situation and the findings of the all-party delegation that visited J&K earlier this week.
The CCS is likely to deliberate on the matter of partial withdrawal of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) from the state, taking into consideration the all-party delegation?s views.
The J&K government had been pressing for the partial repeal of the AFSPA as a confidence-building measure.
The demand for release of youths arrested during the recent protests is also likely to be taken up by the CCS.
Union Home minister P Chidambaram, who had led the 36-member all-party delegation, had on Thursday held talks with the members of the delegation.
The delegation members have reportedly expressed their support for focus on confidence-building measures, especially targeting the youth.
