Crime capital records five rapes in three days

Delhi’s reputation as an unsafe city for women touched a new low as the capital witnessed five rapes in the past three days, including of three minors.

In west Delhi’s Kirti Nagar area, a 6-year-old girl was abducted and raped by a neighbour Friday. The girl was found next morning at a nearby temple. She was taken to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where the doctors confirmed rape. Her alleged attacker is missing and on the run.

In another incident in west Delhi, another 6-year-old was abducted and raped Saturday in Mundka area. The rapist, allegedly a security guard of a residential building, also is missing.

On the same day in Vivek Nagar area of east Delhi, a 20-year-old college student was abducted and raped by her own brother-in-law. The attacker was arrested Sunday.

The fourth incident also took place on Saturday in Delhi Cantonment where a soldier’s wife was raped by another soldier. The accused was later arrested.

In yet another incident, the guard of a farm house Sunday raped a 16-year-old girl in Dwarka area of west Delhi, police said. No other information was available.
