CWG-accused TS Darbari gets bail

The Delhi High court on Friday released TS Darbari, a former Commonwealth’s Organising Committee official, on bail.

Darbari, a close associate OC chief Suresh Kalmadi, was arrested on Nov 15 allegedly for siphoning of funds in the name of expenditure for Queen’s Baton Relay.

Court sources said a conditional bail was awarded to Darbari after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the scam, failed to file a chargesheet against him.

During CBI interrogation, Darbari had alleged that he was being persecuted to save others from charges.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate, which is also carrying out a parallel investigation, is pondering to file cases against some more people, allegedly involved in the scam.
