Delhi Metro gives joyride to cancer-afflicted kids

New Delhi  : A group of 100 children suffering from cancer and their family members visited the Metro Museum at the Patel Chowk Metro station Friday and had a joyride on the Metro train for the first time.

“The children from different part of the country in the five-14 age group, who are under treatment for cancer, visited the Metro museum under the aegis of NGO CanKids and spent over two hours on the Delhi Metro,” said Delhi Metro spokesman Anuj Dayal.

The group rode from the AIIMS Metro station to Patel Chowk Metro station.

“The visit to the museum helped the kids to know about one of the most modern Metro systems in the world,” Dayal added.

Delhi Metro makes over 2,700 trips a day, covering about 70,000 km and carrying around 1.8 million passengers on weekdays.
