A 45-year-old Delhi police head constable died after his bike was hit from behind by an unidentified vehicle in the capital, police said Tuesday.
Abhay Narayan Rai, who worked at Rohini South police station in north-west Delhi as a head constable, was hit by an unidentified vehicle around 12.55 a.m. Tuesday near Azad Ground, Victor Public School in east Delhi’s Madhu Vihar.
At the time of the incident, Rai was heading towards his home at Gomukh Apartments, Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad on his bike after his duty.
Rai is survived by his wife and three daughters. “He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. A case regarding the incident has been registered and hunt for the errant driver is on,” said a senior police officer.
