Delhi police start JNU MMS scandal probe

The Delhi police have filed an FIR against the two students, accused of circulating an objectionable video clip on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus, tarnishing the image of the renowned institution.

The university in India’s capital was rocked when the security persons detected a video clipping showing two unidentified students in a compromising position in a hostel room earlier this year.

They immediately reported the authorities, who after preliminary investigation reported to the Delhi police to probe the obscene video recording.

Police said they have filed a case against the two students and began investigation with questioning the JNU authorities as well as the suspected students.

Police said the case was under section 292 (sale of obscene material) of the Indian Penal Code and the sections 66E and 67 of the Information Technology (IT) Act.

The Vasant Kunj (North) police station is handing the case as the university comes under its jurisdiction.
