Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai: Extra public transport buses for Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 10 (IANS) 6,000 extra public transport buses will be seen on the roads of Delhi. The Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai has made the announcement.  The announcement will come in practical situation from January 1 to 15, when the government plans to selectively push private vehicles off road.

The city government has decided that private vehicles with odd and even registration numbers will ply in the city on odd and even dates respectively from January 1.

“About 50 percent of the seats in 2,000 CNG school buses will be reserved for women. The ‘puchho app’ will launched to help the commuters and people can download this on 25th of this month (December),” Rai added.

He said during that period, one auto can be run by two drivers, which would enable the autos to run for a longer duration.
