Four caught for killing Delhi cop
New Delhi : Three people were arrested and a minor detained here for stabbing-to-death a constable and injuring another who were posted near a red light area, said police Tuesday.
Suraj, 22, Ashish Bhuguna, 19, and Manoj, 21, were arrested and a 17-year-old boy was detained from arrested from G.B. Road where they attacked three policemen around 11.45 p.m. Monday.
Constable Bijender, 24, died on the spot while his colleague Sandeep, 27, was hospitalised.
Additional Commissioner of Police Devesh Chandra Srivastava said: “The accused, who have no previous criminal record, had gone to brothel No-57 in G.B. Road where they had consumed alcohol and indulged in an argument with a pick-pocket Irshad.”
They started thrashing Irshad when he came outside the brothel. Irshad approached the three policemen on patrol, he said.
Bijender and Sandeep caught two of the accused, who were trying to flee. To save themselves, the accused stabbed both the constables, he said.
In the mean time, a police team reached the spot and the accused were arrested.
Bijender Singh, a native of Haryana, had joined Delhi police in 2009 and was posted at Kamla Market police station.
