Home Minister praises Delhiites for CWG behaviour

Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Saturday praised the Delhiites for their good behaviour and patience during the Commonwealth Games while extolling the security personnel and police for their tremendous job.

He said the Delhiites behaviour also changed and hoped it is not short-lived.

“I hope this is not a temporary change. It must remain forever. Delhi people must also learn how to follow the rules and drive in lanes,” he said.

Urging the people to follow rules and cooperate with the cops, Chidambaram said: “Nothing can compensate for hours put in by police personnel. [They] stand in streets for 14-15 hours a day and that’s not easy.”

He said the police too behaved more politely and it must not change.
