Nepalese President Ram Baran Yadav will pay an official visit to India from January 27 ? February 5, said the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday.
He will be accompanied by Minendra Rijal, Minister for Federal Affairs, Constituent Assembly, Legislature Parliament and Culture and senior officials of the Government of Nepal.
Yadav will visit Kolkata on January 27 to participate as the Chief Guest in the Convocation ceremony of Medical College, Kolkata, of which he is a most distinguished alumnus.
He completed his MBBS from the institution in 1974 with a Degree in Clinical Pathology.
Yadav will next visit Tirupati on January 30, before arriving at New Delhi.
During his stay in Delhi from January 31- February 3, his engagements include a meeting with Hon?ble President of India, who will host a banquet in honour of the visiting dignitary.
Our Vice President, Prime Minister, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Chairperson of UPA, Minister of Finance, Minister of External Affairs, Minister of Defence, Minister of Home Affairs, Leaders of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will call on him.
The President of Nepal will later visit Chandigarh to participate in the XXXI Convocation ceremony of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) as its Chief Guest on February 4. He completed his MD in General Medicine from PGIMER in 1985.
The visit will provide an opportunity to exchange views and hold discussions on issues of mutual interest and concern in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level exchange of visits between the two countries, said the MEA.
Yadav had earlier paid a State visit to India in February 2010.
