New Delhi : Investigators remained clueless in a bank cash van robbery here in which the driver fled with Rs.50 lakh after drugging his three colleagues, police said Sunday.
The incident occurred after loading cash at the Oriental Bank of Commerce at Kirori Mal College in north Delhi Friday.
Police are hunting for van driver Om Pal who gave the sweets, laced with sedatives. to his colleague – two cash loaders and a security guard – before escaping with the money.
“Om Pal was driving the vehicle. Two cash loaders, Yogesh and Hemant, with a security guard Brijesh were also present in the cash van,” said police.
The cash van left Friday, carrying Rs.81 lakh, which was to be put in 12 ATMs of different banks.
Police said that after loading cash into four ATMs, Pal offered the to his colleagues. After that they put cash into two more ATMs before the victims fell unconscious.
