New Delhi : Reacting hours after Rahul Gandhi’s support to his National Conference government, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday thanked the Congress general secretary saying, ” I’m grateful to Rahul Gandhi for his backing.”
Gandhi told reporters in Kolkata that ‘ Omar is handling very sensitive issue in Kashmir and everyone should support and give him time.”
“I am very grateful for his backing, but I am not saying anything. Whatever, I have to say I will say to Rahul personally,” the J & K chief minister, who was now facing a double edged knife in home, said when asked to react on junior Gandhi’s words of support.
“The government has supported Omar Abdullah. National Conference is the party in power. He is a youngster. Kashmir is a difficult place. Omar is doing a tough job and he should be given time and support,” Rahul Gadnhi said at his parting press conference in Kolkata, winding up his three-day West Bengal trip on Thursday morning.
