Parliament was adjourned again till Monday after uproar over the demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the 2G spectrum scam on Friday morning.
Sources said Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will once again speak to the opposition leaders to find a way out of the stalemate.
“Our demand has been and will continue to be for a JPC,” said AIADMK MP V. Maitreyan as both houses of the Parliament were adjourned after uproarious scenes.
The opposition lawmakers shouted for a JPC in the Houses as the standoff continued between the Opposition and the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA) led by the Congress.
Congress has ruled out a JPC so far.
The Opposition also demanded that the Prime Minister should break his silence and speak on the 2G scam issue after the Supreme Court rebuke for his alleged inordinate delay in acting on a plea to prosecute A Raja, accused in the scam that cost the state exchequer Rs 1.76 lakh crore (about $40 billion).
