Patient Anil Jain?s death blamed on PM?s convoy passage restrictions

Delay in reaching hospital due to traffic restrictions for the Prime Minister?s convoy has been blamed for a death in the national capital.

A 46-year-old man, Anil Jain, reportedly died on the way to hospital on Sunday after his ambulance was stopped near Raj Ghat due to restrictions imposed for passage of the PM?s convoy.

Jain?s family said that he was being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance after suffering a heart attack and alleged that he succumbed due to delay in receiving medical aid.

The family members alleged that the ambulance was caught up in the restrictions for over half-an-hour.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was on his way to the Congress plenary session when the traffic was controlled for his convoy.

The Prime Minister’s office has asked for a report from the Home Secretary.

Singh on Monday took a chopper ride to the plenary venue.
