Three booked for killing hair-stylist in Delhi

New Delhi  :  Three friends of a young hair-stylist were booked for killing him at his residence here in the city a week ago, police said Wednesday.

Nand Kishore, 24, and Dalip Sharma, 27, were arrested Tuesday from south Delhi’s R.K. Puram in connection with the murder of Bimal Gurung, brand ambassador of Karastase Hair Products who was working with a prominent salon in west Delhi.

They told police that their third accomplice, Pradeep Kumar, 24, is already in police custody in a motor vehicle theft case.

Gurung was strangled by the accused at his Vasant Vihar residence on the intervening night of Sep 5-6. The accused later robbed the victim’s house. Kishore, the key accused, along with his friends conspired to rob the victim,” said Chhaya Sharma, deputy commissioner of police.

“Kishore allegedly used to have sexual relations with the deceased who used to pay him,” said Sharma.

A private CCTV camera installed at the house and the last call detail of the victim helped police nab the accused, added the officer.

The officer informed that Pradeep and Kishore were convicted for three years in a murder case and were released in 2010.

As they were not able to get enough money for their needs, they decided to rob Gurung with whom Kishore came in contact a few months ago.

“On the night of the murder, the accused consumed alcohol and had sex with the deceased and upon a pre-decided sign, the three strangled Gurung and tied his hands and legs,” Sharma said.
