Two arrested in Dhaula Kuan gangrape case

NEW DELHI : Delhi Police arrested today two persons for their rape of a 30-year-old call centre employee Mizo woman and alleged involvement in the abduction last week.

Shamshad and Usman, two identified as have a criminal background and were allegedly involved in a gangrape case earlier also.

There were more than 500 people have been questioned in the case so far,the Police is questioning the two, who are in their early 20s.

Hundreds of Delhi policemen went to Haryana’s Mewat district to pick up Shamshad and Usman, the two suspects in the assault on a 30-year-old woman, from their homes on Wednesday night. Police also seized a car, which was used in the crime.

The crime happened on Nov 26 when the Mizo woman was abducted while returning home at Moti village near Dhaula Kuan in south Delhi early from office early morning along with one of her colleagues.

The suspects, waiting on a vehicle, shoveled-in the woman and left for an unknown destination.

The woman was later found abandoned at Mogolpuri.

She then approached the police, who since then had been on the lookout for the perpetrators.
