Board exams: Lengthy english question paper puzzles students

Students appearing for the class 12 board exam that began here Thursday said the english paper was way too lengthy to finish in three hours. Nearly 8 lakh students are appearing for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams this year.

“The paper was easy but very lengthy. I did not even get time to revise my paper,” Kuldeep Khark from Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya at Lodhi Road, told IANS.

“I don’t know about other question paper sets, but my set was lengthy,” Khark, who wrote the exam at the Gargi Government Sarvodaya Vidyalya in south Delhi’s Green Park, said.

While some students faced difficulties during the three-hour long exam, some students said the paper was an easy one to crack.

“It was quite easy. As compared to what we had given in preboard exams in our schools, this was easy to crack,” Sagar Bhatia of the Delhi Police Public School in Safdarjung Enclave in south Delhi, told IANS.

“The length of the paper could be managed as I had planned which section to attempt first,” Bhatia added.

For parents, it was time to tell students to focus on the next exam’s preparation.

“My son is disappointed as he could not complete the paper in time. I am just telling him to now focus on the next exam,” said Meenakshi Shah, a class 12 student’s mother.

While Class 12 students sat for the English exam, it was painting time for their juniors.

Delhi has over 500 exam centres.

The next exam for class 12 students is political science March 3, while science students would be appearing for physics exam March 5.
