Kolkata, : To give students a more practical platform of interacting with science and engineering, MCKV Institute of Engineering (MCKVIE), Liluah has organised a technology fest ?Pragati?.
The two-day event, which began on Saturday saw about 800 participants from various engineering institutes and colleges take part.
MCKVIE Vice Principal Trithankar Datta said, “This fest is aimed at increasing the practical exposure of the students and to nurture their creativity.?
The fest includes engineering-centric events like robotics, gaming, quizzes, paper-presentations and many more.
Noted technocrats and educationists from leading academic institutions will be present as judges for various events, organisers said.
The institutes’s Principal Parasar Bandyopadhyay said that such programme must be encouraged more often as “ideas that ignite the world are born at places where exchange of ideas take place.”
