New Delhi : Television reality shows ?Bigg Boss? and ?Rakhi ka Insaaf? will henceforth be aired after 11 pm as these programmes are not considered suitable for universal viewing.
The Information and Broadcasting ministry, in an order on Wednesday, directed the channels airing these shows to telecast these between 11 pm and 5 am.
The shows cannot be repeated during other time slot nor can news programmes carry shots of these shows, the ministry further ordered.
The channels have been asked to implement the orders with immediate effect.
The decision to crack the whip on these shows was taken following complaints by viewers, social activists and women outfits that these shows invading privacy and show explicit content and vulgarity.
?Bigg Boss? is aired on Colors, while ?Rakhi ka Insaaf? is on NDTV Imagine.
