A galaxy of Bollywood Stars unite for ‘Apna Bombay Talkies’ song

For the first time ever, the silver screen is going to witness a galaxy of Bollywood’s A-list actors in “Apna Bombay Talkies “song from upcoming movie Bombay Talkies.

Coming soon after ‘Give It Up For Bachchan’, a song which was dedicated to Mr Amitabh Bachchan, ‘Apna Bombay talkies’ will serve as the title track for Bombay Talkies and brings together 20 industry stalwarts. The movie, which is made up of four short films directed by Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee, is aimed at commemorating 100 successful years of Indian cinema.

The song has been choreographed by one of the Bollywood’s ace choreographer’s Vaibhavi Merchant. It is indeed been a great opportunity and achievement for Vaibhavi to handle 20 actors, 21singers, and large number of technicians spending endless hours and sleepless nights.

The title track will feature some of big names from the Khans to the Kapoors. The list goes like this Aamir, Shah Rukh and Saif Ali, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, Akshay Kumar, Karisma Kapoor and Juhi Chawla , Kareena Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Rani Mukerji, Farhan Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. The list also includes Bollywood’s young brigade Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone will also be seen shaking their leg in the number.

This is also the first time that over 20 singers united and will be part of the same song. According to sources, “The track has been sung by some of the most reputed singers in the industry. The interesting part about this track is that the singers have recorded for those actors whom they mostly lend their voices for the playback singing in their movies.???

Keep an ear out for some of the prominent singers featured in this track like Sunidhi Chauhan, Shaan, Kavita Krishnamoorthy, SP Balasubramaniam, Abhijeet, Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Mohit Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, Sudhesh Bhosle, Shreya Ghosal, Shilpa Rao, Udit Narayan, KK and Sukhwinder Singh.

Sources also add that Vaibhavi has done a tremendous job and put in a lot of hard work in making this unique song. The song has reportedly been beautifully choreographed and there was a strict dress code specified for all the actors. All the men had to wear black tuxedos and the women wore gold outfits, designed by their respective favorite designers. The total duration of this song took over a month as all the actors had to shot independently for their parts.

Bombay Talkies is slated to release on May 3, 2013, worldwide, to mark the centenary year of the Indian cinema and the music of the film has been composed by the current musical flavor of Bollywood, music director Amit Trivedi.
