Asha Bhosle gets nostalgic on Lata Mangeshkar?s birthday

Mumbai : As Melody Queen Lata Mangeshkar turned 81 on Tuesday, her younger sister Asha Bhosle got nostalgic on micro-blogging site Twitter.

?My favourite female singer & also my elder sister Latadidi celebrates her Birthday today. Too bad I’m in Hong Kong & can’t attend her birthday? but my well wishes are always with Latadidi,? tweeted Asha.

The versatile singer also posted a rare photograph of the 4 Mangeshkar sisters.

?On her Birthday, Posting an old and sweet memory of us,? said Asha.

Meanwhile, Lata also posted a rare photo of her as a child on her Twitter account ?mangeshkarlata?

?My pic when i was a little child,? tweeted Lata.

She also thanked all her well-wishers for greeting on her birthday.

?Namaskar, I am deeply touched and overwhelmed with your love and kind wishes on my birthday,? Lata tweeted.

However, Lata reportedly spent a quiet birthday with her family members at her ancestral home in Kolhapur on Tuesday .

A day before her birthday, the Bharat Ratna singer told reporters that she does not like celebrating her birthday.

?I don?t like celebrating my birthday. It?s just another day for me. I do my regular Puja and spend the day with family,? she said.
Spanning a career of over seven decades, Lata has lent her voice to Bollywood actresses from Madhubala, Nutan to Hema Malini, Rekha, Sridevi, to Kajol, Urmila, and most recently Konkona Sen Sharma.

She has sung for over 1000 Hindi films, and in 36 regional languages.

She was listed as the ?Most Recorded Artist? by The Guinness Book of World Records.
