Karisma turns to radio, excited about new platform
After dabbling in films and television, actress Karisma Kapoor has now turned radio jockey (RJ), and will host a special segment on an FM station. She says she just wanted to try a new medium.
Karisma will turn into an RJ for a special segment on 92.7 BIG FM’s show “BIG Memsaab”, from Dec 24 to March 24.
“This is a totally new avenue, something I have never done. I am lucky enough I had a career for a long period of time. Like I said, I have done films, television, I also have a portal, so why not radio! It’s something new and different for me to do,” she said here Tuesday at the launch of her show.
The 38-year-old debuted in 1991 with “Prem Qaidi” and continuously worked till she got married in 2003.
Karisma’s show is going to be about fashion and style.
“It’s not about standing out, it’s like I wanted to do something new. I have got opportunities to do something on different platforms, why not radio. I think over the years people have appreciated my style. So here I am getting an entire show based on style and where I can help women across India,” she said.
Karisma made a comeback to films this year with “Dangerous Ishq”. She will soon start shooting for the remake of “Satte Pe Satta”.
