Veteran actor Manoj Kumar underwent successful gall bladder surgery Wednesday morning, which also happened to be his birthday, at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, a doctor said.
“The surgery went for an hour and it went off well. He is back in the room,” Ram Narain, executive director at the hospital, told IANS.
The actor complained of pain and was admitted to the hospital July 17.
Manoj Kumar, star of successful films like “Hariyali Aur Raasta”, “Woh Kaun Thi?” and “Do Badan”, turned 76 on Wednesday.
He worked actively as an actor and filmmaker for about 30 years and also earned the title of “Bharat Kumar” for directing patriotic films like “Purab Aur Paschim” and
“Upkar”, which performed well at the box office.
