Christopher Plummer wins best supporting actor
At 82, Christopher Plummer is said to be the oldest person to have won an Oscar as he took home the golden statuette for his performance in a supporting role in “Beginners” here.
He beat Kenneth Branagh (“My Week with Marilyn), Jonah Hill (“Moneyball”), Nick Nolte (“Warrior”) and Max von Sydow (“Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close) for the trophy at the Kodak Theatre.
The movie, a romantic comedy-drama written and directed by Mike Mills, also won a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) award for his supporting performance this year.
