Income Tax (IT) officials have reportedly seized Rs 12 crore while raiding residences of Bollywood actors Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif.
According to sources said the IT department may conduct raids at residences of other prominent names of the Hindi film industry.
Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif on Thursday rejected media reports about possessing ‘ unaccounted money,” issuing a statement three days after the Income Tax sleuths raided her homes for alleged tax evasion.
The reports about Katrina’s “unaccounted income” were incorrect, it said.
Whist admitting a search was conducted by the IT department at her residence, Katrina Kaif’s chartered firm said: “My client is disturbed by the speculative reports circulating in the media that she has disclosed (to the department) unaccounted income running into crores, and unaccounted lockers were found.”
“Katrina is fully cooperating with the IT Department, whom she holds in high regard.”
Besides the house of Katrina, IT officials on Monday searched the houses of Priyanka Chopra, premises of Chopra’s father, Matrix, a celeb management company that handles Kaif’s endorsement, photographer Atul Kasbekar, and Chand Misra, Chopra’s personal assistant.
