Mumbai : Actor Katrina Kaif was seen promoting her new film ?Tees Maar Khan? at the Zee Rishtey Awards, recently held at MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.
Raising a toast to the completion of 18 glorious years of its precious relationship with audiences in India, Zee TV held the ?Zee Rishtey Awards 2010? – Jashn 18 Saalon Ka-on Saturday.
It all started with a giant cake being cut in celebration of the 18 years by 40 of the most iconic faces associated with Zee TV over the years.
Prominent amongst those who walked the red carpet were Chairman, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) & Essel Group Subhash Chandra Goel accompanied by wife and son Punit Goenka, MD & CEO, ZEEL.
Sending the mercury rising by their sheer presence were actors Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, accompanied by director producer of their upcoming film Tees Maar Khan, Farah Khan.
Zee TV’s very own pack of celebrities included Sushant Rajput & Ankita Lokhande, Ratan Rajput, actor Iqbal Khan, Karan Grover, Avinash Sachdev, Gaurav Chopra, Himmanshoo Malhotra, Nivedita Tiwary, Priyal Gor, Nishant Malkani and the old-timers of Zee TV Neena Gupta, Aruna Irani, Navneet Nishan. Niki Aneja, Usha Nadkarni, Divyanka Tripathi and Rita Bhaduri.
The evening commenced with an opulent rath yatra wherein the lead protagonists of each show made a grand entrance with a procession of dancers following them.
The most exciting performances of the evening included a jaw-dropping magic act by India’s most popular sweethearts Manav and Archana.
Akshay Kumar made a very interesting entry on to the stage in a police van handcuffed and frenzy hit the roof when he flung himself into the audience before performing a marvellous aerial act.
Katrina shook a leg with Farah Khan but the Sheila who showcased her jawaani at the show was winner of the last season of Dance India Dance (DID) Shakti Mohan who brought the house down with DID fellow contestant Dharmesh Yelande to the latest chartbuster from Tees Maar Khan.
There was also a fun-filled dance-off between the old-timers and the newbies of Zee and a rain-dance symbolizing the passion of “first love” by Iqbal Khan and Binny Sharma.
The evening was also peppered with comedy acts, dance performances by the cast of Zee TV’s popular primetime shows.
