Shekhar Suman promises absolutely clean comedy with his new show “Laugh India Laugh”, which will see contestants from India as well as Pakistan. He says he will adhere to his “social responsibility”.
The standup comedy goes on air July 15 on Life Ok and Shekhar will be joined by Chunky Pandey and Mika Singh on the judges panel.
“Cinema is something that you choose to watch, but television is a family medium. We might not be prepared to hear objectionable content,” Shekhar told reporters Friday at the launch of the show.
Many comedy shows have double meaning contents.
“I don’t want to hear funny things about bananas and oranges when I am sitting with my dad. There is something called social responsibility and it is important to adhere to it. This is a neat and clean family entertainment show,” added the actor who is hosting the second season of “Movers & Shekhars” on Sab TV.
Only one girl is participating in it and according to Shekhar, comedy is predominantly a male bastion and added that “girls are a bit shy to come on stage. Humour is a male bastion. Comedy, predominantly is a male sphere. We are lucky to have one girl.”
