If we have purchased a new brand car then why we should change it to Truck and use!!! Same happens here, We have purchased one of classic movie’s script right then why we should add unwanted twists!!!
Players, a remake of Hollywood movie “The Italian Job”(2003), stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol, Bipasha Basu, Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sikander Kher, Omi Vaidya, Johnny Levers and Vinod Khanna.
Movie has same plot like predecessor movie like Plan, Building Team, Stealing, betray and revenge.
Abhishek Bachchan has same steady, serious look, facial expression and action which he has done for Zameen, Dhoom Series, Game and Dum Maaro Dum.
Bipasha Basu is becoming more reliable actress film by film. Sonam Kapoor has dress off her traditional look to glamorous one but she still fails to keep audience with her.
I am not sure why Bobby Deol is in this film. He seems so sad in movie (may be because of his roll in movie!!!).
Once again same charming acting by Neil Nitin Mukesh.
Vinod Khanna’s acting is best in his class but he has not much to do in film.
Sikander Kher, son of Kirron Kher and step-son of Anupam Kher, has single face acting all over movie. Omi Vaidya and Johnny Levers has tried to give smile on audience faces who are already bored by movie and they succeed somewhere.
Duo Abbas-Mustan has tried to add “Race” flavor in movie but it didn’t work. They are really upgraded with stylish gadgets, camera work and way of presentation. Some twists in movie has really worked well but so many twists in movies makes audience to not trust on any and they wont able to make relationship with Character of movie.
Audience is already bored with this kind of plot in Bollywood with recent movie Don 2 which has received good reviews but people may not waste money for movie on same plot.
And Nowadays, they have started to compare Hollywood movies with Bollywood movie and obvious, Bollywood movie fails to impress (its may be because of Hindi Dialogues or low Budget) but best thing is they have started to compare with Hollywood Movies.
Movie may do good in Single Screen. Most of multiplex audiences may try to keep themselves away from this movie.
But I must say camerawork of movie and location selections need appreciation but overall, its bad treatment of Blockbuster movie’s script with many unwanted twists.
My rating for this movie is 2.5 out of 5 Stars.
