Mumbai : Popular Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan will turn one year older as he celebrates his 48th birthday on Tuesday (Nov 30).
The 1962-born actor is known for his powerful acting skills and realistic portrayal of characters.
However, Irrfan’s recent releases like ?Hisss? and ?Knock Out? failed to impress at the Box Office.
In his earlier days as an actor, Irrfan had also worked in several television serials like- Chanakya, Sara Jahan Hamara, Banegi Apni Baat, Chandrakanta (Doordarshan), Star Bestsellers (Star Plus), and Sparsh.
However, it was The Warrior, which opened in international film festivals, made Irrfan Khan a known face in the world of cinema.
He played the important title role in the critically acclaimed movie ?Maqbool?, an adaptation of Shakespeare?s ?Macbeth?.
But, it was in Bollywood film ?Rog? where his fans saw him in a lead role for the first time.
In 2004 Irrfan won the Filmfare Best Villain Award for his role in film ‘Haasil’.
In 2007, he appeared in hit films like ‘Life in a Metro’ (for which he received a Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award), and Mira Nair’s ‘The Namesake’.
He also appeared in international films like ‘A Mighty Heart’ and ‘The Darjeeling Limited’.
Irrfan also played a police inspector in 2008’s Oscar-winning film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
He and the cast of the movie even won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
