Voting for the election of president of India concluded in Goa with the entire electoral college casting their votes Thursday.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmakers said they had voted in toto for the party-backed candidate and former Lok Sabha speaker P.A. Sangma.
“Sangma-ji should get around 30 votes in Goa,” Parrikar said after the 21 party legislators as well as other alliance members, Independents close to the BJP and one MP cast their vote here.
Congress leader and former chief minister Digambar Kamat said the nine Congress legislators as well as the two MPs and one Independent had voted for the Congress- sponsored candidate Pranab Mukherjee.
“The two Congress MPs voted in Delhi,” he said.
Goa has forty legislators in its unicameral house and three MPs.
