30 injured in MP train accident
Vidisha (Madhya Pradesh) :Over 30 people, including four pregnant women, were injured after seven coaches of an express train derailed at Sourai near Vidisha district in Madhya Pradesh on Monday.
?The Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)-Pratapgarh Udyog Nagri Express derailed at Sourai around 6.20am. Three coaches completely overturned, while four skidded off the rail tracks,? Vidisha District Collector CB Singh told media.
?Over 25 passengers were injured; six are critical. Rescue operations are on,? said Singh.
However, locals, who are helping Railways in the rescue operations, said over 30 people were injured.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj said she is in constant touch with the authorities regarding the incident.
?Udyog Nagari Train accident – I have spoken to Chief Minister, Distt Collector Vidisha and DRM Bhopal,? Swaraj tweeted from Delhi.
?Fortunately, there is no casualty. Six passengers are seriously injured. They are being treated in Hamidia Hospital Bhopal.?
?I am in constant touch with the authorities,? said Swaraj on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Rail traffic was affected largely, especially between Bhopal and New Delhi, due to the accident.
