The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday questioned chartered accountants (CAs) of Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi and former Telecom Minister A Raja in connection to the 2G spectrum allocation scam.
The investigating agency grilled Ratnam, who works for Kanimozhi as well as her father M Karunanidhi’s third wife Rajathi Ammal, over money laundering from 2G scam-accused Shahid Balwa?s DB Realty to DMK?s Kalaignar TV.
The CBI also quizzed Raja’s CA V Ganpathy over the Voltas land deal, which the agency suspects, is connected to the 2G scam.
The CBI named Kanimozhi as co-conspirator in the 2G spectrum allocation scam in its second chargesheet filed before Special judge O P Saini.
Kanimozhi has been charged with section 7 and 11 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
In a swindle that could have cost the national exchequer upto Rs 1.76 lakh crore, Raja purportedly gave away the airwaves arbitrarily in return of kickbacks.
