Bollywood producer and Cineyug Films promoter Karim Morani appeared before a court here in the 2G spectrum scam on Tuesday, after trying to elude it on the ground of health.
Morani was forced to appear before court after the Special CBI Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea.
He earlier sought exemptions from court appearances on health grounds, but the court said unless he appeared in person coercive methods would be used.
He reportedly underwent angioplasty and was in hospital, his counsels had pleaded.
The CBI in its chargesheet said that 2G scam money were routed to DMK family owned Kalaignar TV through Morani’s Cineyug Films among other conduits.
The Delhi High Court Tuesday adjourned the bail plea of Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi in the 2G scam case till May 30, forcing her to stay in Tihar jail for another one week.
She was sent to jail by a Delhi special court on Friday last in the 2G case as a co-conspirator and for the role of her family owned Kalaignar TV, in which she is a stakeholder, in receiving the scam money.
