Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi Wednesday announced 96 new trains, including 75 express trains and 21 passenger trains in the railway budget for 2012-13.
The minister said 39 trains will be extended and the frequency of 23 trains will be increased.
Stating that many members of parliament came to him with requests for new trains and new lines, Trivedi said he received around 5,741 such requests ahead of the budget.
