A Raja to face CBI again today
The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) would again quiz former Telecom Minister A Raja over the 2G spectrum scam on Saturday, media reports said.
He was questioned for nine hours on Friday.
“I cooperated with the investigating agency,” Raja said Friday night after his interrogation.
The CBI had a busy day on Friday as its sleuths got cracking two high-profile cases currently being probe by it.
While a few CBI sleuths quizzed former A Raja, their colleagues elsewhere raided residences of Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi and his associates in different cases.
Raja was quizzed by the CBI, which is probing the 2G Spectrum scam, after he arrived in the headquarters of the federal investigating agency on Friday.
CBI is tight-lipped on the questioning by the anti-corruption wing of the agency.
The beleaguered DMK leader after being summoned by the investigating agency on Monday, flew in here on Wednesday from Chennai to appear for grilling for his alleged involvement in allocating telecom spectrums to the private providers that cost the government nearly Rs 1.74 lakh crore.
The CBI had grilled corporate lobbyist Niira Radia at her farmhouse in south Delhi on Wednesday in connection with the 2G scam.
Raja, who was forced to quit the central cabinet after the Opposition parties mounted pressure on Government for his head and demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to probe the scam, said he would not move for anticipatory bail and face the CBI and cooperate with the authorities.
He said he would come clean and alleged the media was “overplaying.”
