Chandigarh : Police said that at least 10 people were killed in two separate accidents in Punjab on Monday.
A truck ran over five people on the Kapurthala-Goindwal Sahib road early Monday when they were walking towards a gurdwara in Kapurthala district around 4.00 a.m, when the speeding truck crushed them, police said.
The victims belonged to Khiranwali village in Kapurthala district.
In another side as the car driver, who lost control over the vehicle, five members of a family from Ambala city drowned as their car fell into Sirhind Canal near Machhiwara town.
The victims, including three children and a woman, were returning to Ambala after attending a function at Rahon near Nawanshahr, 80 km from here.
