BCCI lodges police complaint against Lalit Modi

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday struck another blow to the suspended Indian Premier League Commissioner Lalit Modi lodging a complaint with police on his alleged misappropriation of funds upto Rs 470 crore.

BCCI Secretary N Sreenivasan filed a police complaint in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, against Modi for criminal appropriation of BCCI funds, City Police Commissioner T Rajendran confirmed.

Modi was accused of siphoning funds in allotting media rights and free commercial rights.

There have been three main charges and the police would go through the complaint

Sreenivasan, who is the President-elect of BCCI, alleged there were a lot of charges against Modi which attracted cases under the Indian Penal Code.
