BJP national executive to focus on UPA corruption
Corruption in the Manmohan Singh-led government is the focus of the national executive meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday, party sources said.
The meeting started with an address by BJP president Nitin Gadkari. The national executive meeting at this town, neighbouring the national capital, will be followed by the national council meeting on Thursday and Friday.
The national council meeting is expected to debate and pass some economic and political resolutions, said party sources.
The executive is expected to discuss the 2G spectrum and CWG corruption scandals and the allocation of coal mines.
Besides Gadkari, senior party leaders, including L.K. Advani, Arun Jaitley, M. Venkaiah Naidu, Murli Manohar Joshi and chief ministers Arjun Munda from Jharkhand and P.K. Dhumal from Himachal Pradesh are attending the meeting.
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the three-day discussions.
