Blast on railway track in Kokrajhar, no casualties
Kokrajhar : A bomb exploded on a railway track minutes after the Howrah-Guwahati down Garib Rath Express passed Goabari in lower Assam’s Kokrajhar district today.
The anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) is said to have been behind the explosion that took place in an area between Gossaigaon and Fakiragram.
The railway officials said that they have informed the railway police about the incident.
No casualties have been reported in the incident. Media reports quoted local police, as saying that three feet of railway track was damaged by the blast. A two feet deep crater was also created by the explosion.
Train services were affected for about five hours after the incident. Media reports said that a search operation has been ordered to nab those who were responsible for the blast.
