Building collapses in Mumbai, at least five killed
Mumbai : At least four people were killed after a portion of a five-storey residential building collapsed in Mumbai due to heavy rains.
The ill-fated building in the Mahim neighborhood imploded after the second day of torrential monsoon rains on June 10 evening.
Rescue and relief personnel used diggers, shovel and earthmover to sift through the debris in search of victims, who might still be trapped beneath the rubble.
Around 20 residents are feared buried in the ruins, mainly elderly people and children. The rescuers pulled out the injured survivors, who were admitted to nearby hospital.
