Bus service to Pakistan resumes in Kashmir
The bus service between India and Pakistan, which had closed after the recent aggression at the border, that claimed the life of five soldiers, resumed to resounding cheers from stranded passengers in Kashmir today.
Three Pakistani and two Indian soldiers were killed this month in the worst outbreak of tit-for-tat violence in Kashmir since India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire along a de facto border there nearly a decade ago.
Pakistan had decided to shut off the Poonch-Rawalakot after the heavy exchange of gun-fire at the border. Some passengers were left stranded for almost a month as they waited for the resumption of the bus service.
