New Delhi : Thousands of INLD supporters gathered outside the Rohini court complex today and created ruckus when former Haryana CM Om Prakash Chautala arrived in the jail van prior to the hearing of arguments on his sentencing in the case of illegal recruitment scam.
The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) supporters holding the party flag tried to stop the jail van outside the court and even climbed on to the vehicle, forcing the driver to stop it.
The slogan shouting supporters also tried to break the barricades set up outside the court, following which the police had to resort to lathicharge to keep the crowd under control.
The court is likely to pronounce today its order on sentence against the former Haryana chief minister OP Chautala, his son Ajay Chautala and 53 others guilty of illegally recruiting 3,206 junior basic trained (JBT) teachers in the state in the year 2000.
