China not to pressurize Pak on India?s insistence
While extending its support to joint efforts with India towards counter terrorism measures, China on Thursday said it will not put any kind of pressure on Pakistan with regards to certain concerns of India.
China will not ask Pakistan to expedite the 26/11 trail or dismantle terror camps, Indian foreign secretary Nirupama Rao said, briefing reporters after a joint statement on Indian Prime Minister and visiting Chinese Premier talks were issued.
Rao added that the two sides have agreed on annual meetings of its foreign ministers to help further smoothen ties between the two neighbours.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh held talks on bilateral relations and regional and international issues of mutual interest here on Thursday.
?Both sides underlined their unequivocal opposition to terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and stressed that there is no justification for any act of terrorism anywhere.
They committed themselves to countering terrorism through joint efforts that include disrupting the financing of terrorism,? said a joint communiqu? issued by Singh and Jiabao.
?They also recognized the need to implement all relevant UN resolutions, in particular UNSC resolution 1267, 1373, 1540 and 1624,? said the statement.
Jiabao is on a state visit to India from December 15-17 at the invitation of Singh.
